|  Out for a stroll?  Shaial! How long have you been... nevermind, pointless question.  Are you enjoying yourself, Feathers?  It's peaceful. Certainly a change from the usual.  Mmm. Feathers, are you happy?  Hmm? Yes, as much as I can be. Why wouldn't I be?  ...............  It worries me when you are so distant and quiet, Shaial. It doesn't suit you.  Aww, Feathers, I didn't think you cared!  Don't let it go to your head.  No chance. Too dangerous. About that... you told me once that you can't experience emotions because it would be 'too dangerous.' What does that mean?  You like to ask the complicated questions, don't you, Feathers?  It's only complicated because you're involved.  That's probably true. But to answer your question, when mortals experience emotions, they react to them. Anger, fear, jealousy... love. 'In the heat of the moment' so they say.  Yes, I've seen what can happen 'in the heat of the moment.'  Now, imagine what could happen if the one caught up in that heat had the power to rewrite reality itself.  ...............  So, it is not safe for Shaial to experience such things. That is why I created so many personae, so many selves, so that I could experience all that there is to life without endangering it with my presence.  And, as a result, Shaial is always alone.  ............. Don't you get tired of it?  Feathers...  Ah?   If there was anyone who I would be tempted to bend my rules for, it would be you.  I can feel your pain, all twisted up inside with nowhere to go.  I wish I could love you as you deserve to be loved, little feathers. I really do.  Shaial...  I'm sorry. | |
